Club History
The first formalised Touch Football competition was South Sydney Touch Association in 1968 and it continued to grow. The New South Wales Touch Association was constituted in 1972 and at that point there were six competitions and approximately 1500 players.
In approximately 1998, the Mendooran Touch Association was established through afternoons of locals meeting to play a social “park style” game of all mixed ages 3 – 63! As interest grew a more formalized game and construction was built , games were played on the back of the Central School Ovals. Over the years it has grown and become a highly popular social summer competition for locals and surrounding towns coming together. We moved the location of the games over the the Mendooran Cricket oval, which is now reclaimed as the Mendooran Sports Ground.
Over time Mendooran Touch Association has been an important part of our local community with an average 120 participants playing in our local competition.
The Club is in a stronger position and will continue to grow and build a positive culture within the community and look to build so that we have stability and strength in the future years and see the sport levels increase, who knows we may see a representative or two come through the ranks!
